Proclaimed The Next Web, Tuesday (17/04/2012), Costolo comments are contrary to the speculation that the company has lost the deal to buy Instagram.
Previously, Jack Dorsey who is a co-founder of Twitter reportedly stopped using Instagram in protest at the sale. While the New York Times report has expressed interest in buying Twitter photo sharing service it.
Meanwhile, on the purchase of Instagram, many argue that Google is eyeing rival services or not there is a hope that Twitter will buy competitor Instagram as Redeemer defeat of Facebook.
"I think sometimes there is a tendency to react in the event of a company in a market that does not fit with their strategy," said Costolo.
"And I think the trend is wrong. You can see a variety of similar cases in the past. Copying is never a good idea, at least history says it's not a good idea," he added.
Furthermore, he says, Twitter is focused on business development in its own way. Thus, the microblogging service is not going to do something based on what's happening in the market.
