Yocha NewsThe scientists found spiral patterns left by lava flows in one area called Athabasca Valles on Mars. Photos with high resolution spiral pattern is captured by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter's National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

Launched InternationalBusinessTimes, Saturday (04/28/2012), the findings published in the journal Science is trying to be studied by researchers from Arizona State University, Andrew Ryan. He saw more than 200 spiral pattern near the south side of Cerberus Palus.

In addition, researchers also found an image resembling a snail spiral pattern left by lava flows in the area called Athabasca Valles, near the equator of Mars. "This is the first roll of lava have been identified on Mars. It is most surprising when I first saw it was how the pattern was well preserved, "said Andrew Ryan to Space website.

Previously, the flow of lava has been found on planet Earth as the flow on the Big Island of Hawaii and the lava flow near the Galapagos Rift submarine in the Pacific Ocean. Only, this is the first time lava flows found on Mars.

Meanwhile, the planet Mars recently become of interest for planetary scientists to study. Starting from the natural phenomena that occur up to the possibility that there is potential for life on the Red Planet.

Early April, the Reconnaissance Orbiter from NASA discovered a unique form of lava flows that resembles an elephant's head on the planet Mars. Object formation that resembles an elephant's head is a sign of geologic activity that took place over billions of years on the red planet.
