Meanwhile, Facebook engineer Ryan Patterson told TechCrunch that he originally created these features with other technicians for the project. "For me, the use of this product is ideal untu when you are traveling with a group of people you just met and want to have their contacts," said Patterson.
"Search Facebook may be effective to do so, but this tool provides a very easy way to exchange contact information with several people through minimal means," he added.
This new feature comes two months after acquiring Glancee Facebook, an application of location-based "social discovery" is designed to connect users with friends in the real world.
This feature was originally called "Friendshake" and can also be accessed via a URL, which stands for "find friends nearby" (http://fb.com/ffn). This feature is a new step up to continue its mobile reach, by creating new services to meet new people, rather than building more connectivity with people they already know.
