Reported Machineslikeus, Monday (08/27/2012), according to scientists from the University of Southern California Institute, Albert "Skip" Rizzo, virtual humans now have a high level of interactive, artificial intelligence and the ability to bring more lifelike conversations with real human beings.
Rizzo said the virtual human intelligence technology is designed to be used in a clinical training or treatment. "This technology continues to increase. This will have a significant impact on how clinical training done in the field of psychology and medicine," he said.
Virtual reality laboratory owned by Rizzo is working on a new generation of virtual patients by using a special information and deals with user testing. In the future, Rizzo will also develop this technology by modifying the character for the clinical training of the military, where the project will be funded by the U.S. Department of Defense.
For the long term, Rizzo hopes to create a comprehensive computer training module which has a collection of virtual patients with a "diagnosis" for use by psychiatric educators, psychologists and psychology trainees.
More recently, psychology trainees (students) and psychiatric training through role-playing system with other students or their supervisors to gain experience in treating patients. They then engaged in training with actual patients to complete their studies.
