    Yocha NewsScientists discover four species of unique colored crab on the island of Palawan, Philippines. Unfortunately, although the newly discovered species, sustainability has been threatened with mining activity.

    Live Science proclaimed Wednesday (4/25/2012), according to the inventor of the crab, the location of its discovery is a place full of biodiversity. Approximately half of the total species that live in Palawan are endemic and can not be found in other regions.

    These four new species of crab that is Insulamon genus that live in fresh water. Species of crabs are reddish-purple color is only one endemic in one or more of the island. Seawater to limit their spread.

    "We have proven that this type of Insulamon who have never known this living in the islands on the north side of Palawan Calamian. Four newly discovered species live exclusively in Palawan and makes it a unique habitat," said lead researcher, Hendrik Freitag of the Senckenberg Research Institute , Germany.

    "The narrower the original habitat of these species, the greater the risk borne endemic flora and fauna. Even small changes in the environment could lead to extinction. It is important to do research in this area and demonstrate the unique and the need to protect biodiversity on the island," he added.
